Hsinchu, Jul. 20, 2010 - Today, Microelectronics Technology Inc. (MTI), a leading supplier of Microwave / RF equipment, announced that the company’s newly developed high capacity IP-based microwave radio transceiver has been given product approval by a major European telecommunication solutions provider. The product represents a very important milestone for MTI, who will begin mass production in Q3 2010.
With so many bandwidth-hungry devices rapidly invading the consumer marketplace, service carriers everywhere are increasing the available bandwidth on their backhaul networks in order to fulfill the huge data traffic demand. MTI’s newly developed high capacity IP-based microwave radio transceiver is an Ethernet-based, cost-efficient solution for both packet and hybrid (TDM+Packet) microwave radios. The IP-based microwave radio transceiver supports 3.5/7/14/28/56 MHz channel bandwidths and modulation levels ranging from 4 to 256 QAM. It also supports complete scalability applications and the adaptive coding and modulations (ACM) to support the infrastructures of 3G, WiMAX and LTE backhaul, High speed Wireless Internet networks, fixed broadband access backhaul, private wireless networks.
"We are delighted to achieve this significant milestone. With this qualification by a world-class system integrator, MTI has demonstrated its capability to successfully develop state of the art IP-based microwave radio transceivers,” said Mr. Allen Yen, President and CEO of MTI.
